1500 - 4th November : Edmund Crumbleholme - William Hoghton vicar of St Michaels on Wyre : Feoffment for land in Barton in the tenure of ........several people including ..Edmund Crumblehome

1503 - 7th July : This Indenture witnesses that Robert Crumbylholme clerk, William Barker chaplain, Ughtered Cotome & Robert Cotome (son & heirs apparent of the said Ughtered Cotome granted Lawrence Cotome son of Edward Cotome, all the messuages and lands in Dilworth in the vill of Ribchester called Herryfall, Meton Intake and the Copthirst to be held by the aforesaid Lawrence for the term of 14 years paying therefore yearly a red rose and to the chief lords. These being witnesses : Roger Singleton, Robert Clifton, RichardLinoller, Thomas Whittingham, Thomas Lawrence and others. Given the seventh day of July in the 18th year of Henry VII (1503).

1505/6 - 22nd January : Robert Crumbylholme parson of the church of Ribchester, Ughtered Cotom, Will Barker priest, lease for 18 years to Robert Cotom lands etc

1508 - 26th August : Record of Robert Crombliholme occurs on this date. He belonged to a local family which numbered aming its members William Crombelholme chaplain of Ribchester and a contemporary of Rector Ellyswyk (1419-60) and Elias Crombleholme chaplain. His resigned in 1527.

1510 - The Act Book of Whalley (1510-1538) Referring to the lists of tenants of the forest " The Crombleholmes do not appear in these lists (yes they do !!) , although their name is of Bolland origin. That is probably because they were tenants servants of the de Hoghtons on the Leagram Estate . From the Act Book of Whalley Abbey we know that they were at Loud Lytham where they remained for centuries.

1530/31 - Richard Crombelholme & Thomas Walmesley - administrators of the late Robert Crombelholme (late parson of Ribchester) versus The Abbot of Whalley : re Bond for debt (Duchy Court of Lancaster)

Note : Robert Crombelholme clerk parson of Parish Church of Ribchester deceased by 1530. Died intestate. The Abbot disputed bond made in 1st May 1528 by Robert - dispute in 1528 - (RC note Robert died between 1528/30)

1530 - Robert Crombelholme resigned rectory on a pension but died soon afterwards intestate, when his administrator began a suit against the Abbot of Whalley. Upon Crombleholme's resignation the Bishop as surviving trustee presented one Thom Brerewood and complain that William Clayton unjustly hindered his obtaining possession.

1533 - Roger Sherburne of Wolf House where the Court Baron was held for the Manor of Chipping in 1533. A horseman was the bearer of this command that Roger Sherburne should :

...."cause XXIV (24) tall men and good archers, they being of my Lords tenants to be put in redness as vote men well harassed after the maner of centre in whyt jacketts with my badge of the Legges of Man in red clothe before on the brest or behynd on their backs - to be sent to my Ile for Defence against the Lord of Owt Iles and somme Scottes" It was from Bowland that the stout bellman and bowmen were drawn. 1559 - 28th October : Robert Cromlholme christened at Chipping (Source : Par Reg transcript)
