"Scraping the top of the barrel" due to unavailability of some of the usual players, Cowley was forced to send a much stronger than usual team to Wantage. Our opponents put up a valiant fight but found it an uphill battle, being outgraded by some 30-40 points on most boards. Despite two Cowley 4 players "inadvertently sacrificing" a piece early on, we finished with five wins and a draw, giving our team its most decisive victory since 2007.
