The Club AGM on Monday September 2nd was well attended with plenty of lively discussion. Key points arising included:

There will be no increase to the Club subscription this year though members who wish to play league chess or compete in tournaments are reminded of the need to renew their ECF membership which is due on September 1st each year. This can be done on-line at the ECF site.

The Club will now keep open during the summer bank holidays, namely the two in May and the one at the end of August. As a result, the only Mondays when the Club will not be open are now around Christmas/New Years eve, depending on the calendar, and on Easter Monday.

The Club decided to compete again in the Sunday FIDE league, which is held at the Witney Club on five Sundays during the season. Catalin is organising our entry this year and if you wish to compete please let him know without delay (catalinviscu@yahoo.co.uk). As with all FIDE events you will require gold membership of the ECF in order to take part.
