Cowley 1 v Banbury 1

We went into this match without our top two boards, but found that Banbury were missing even more regulars. In the end we out-graded them by an average of 11 points. Despite this advantage, Banbury proceeded to completely out play us. Rod was our only player to register a win. Maria and Oscar managed draws, but Raj, Nick and Dave were beaten.

It hasn't been a good start to the season, as we now occupy bottom place in the league, but we shouldn't be dis-heartened as we have only played two games.
