Directions to the Club

Cowley chess club meets every Monday evening (except during Christmas week and on Easter Monday) from 7:15pm at Rose Hill Methodist Church, Rose Hill, Oxford. OX4 4JP, only an 8 minute drive from Oxford city centre.

The church stands on the fairly steep section of Rose Hill on the left hand side coming down from the Rose Hill shops and the ring road. It lies behind a low stone wall next to the traffic camera about 100 metres above the traffic lights where Henley Avenue becomes Rose Hill. There is off street car parking to the rear of the Church which is approached through an entrance at the very top of the service road just past the Church.

If you are using public transport in Oxford take a No. 3 or 3a bus from Queen Street in the centre of town, ask the driver for the Westbury Crescent stop, and walk back down Rose Hill to the Church.

The entrance to the Chess Club is down a passage at the south end of the Church, the left hand side as you view it from the road.   We play in the upstairs room.  There is space here for bicycles to be left.
