Cowley victories at First Witney Congress

The first Witney Congress, held on 19-20 October, was well attended. The Congress took place at Cokethorpe School, a comfortable venue enjoyed by all. A substantial number of Cowley players participated, several of whom took away prizes.

Oscar Idle shared first prize in the U145 section, a particularly impressive result given he was one of the lowest-graded players in the section! In the U180 section, Nick Burrows came joint first and Robin Nandi took a share of the U160 grading prize. Chantelle Foster had the best first-round loser prize in the Open section. Cowley players also bagged part of the team prize, which was split three ways.

Many thanks to Mike Truran and his fellow organisers, who again included several Cowley regulars, namely Priscilla Morris and Gerard O'Reilly!
