A game of 2 halves!

The 3rds continued their winning run in the league but it was a close shave. John and Jenny won swiftly on boards 5 & 6, followed a while later by Graham on Board 4 and we were 3-0 up! But the top boards all looked a bit too tight. Bill lost his way in the sicilian and was under pressure throughout, eventually resigning. The last two games went to the wire with much clock bashing. Dave found himself short of pawns and resigned. Maria's game was on a knife edge but assisted by an extra 2 minutes, following an illegal move by her opponent, she managed to wriggle out of a lost position and force a draw by perpetual check. So a win by 3.5 to 2.5, well done Maria!
