James has put in an excellent performance in the e2e4.org.uk Uxbridge Premier held from 24-28 October. In a nine-round Swiss, he won the Under-2000 rating prize by scoring 5.5 out of 9 (a tournament performance rating of 2198 [equivalent to ECF 194]). He finished fifth equal on game points, just half a point behind GM Keith Arkell.
