The first Cowley clash of the season saw three guest appearances for Cowley 2, and didn't they do well! Geoff drew comfortably with Nick, Maria (Mate) overcame Paul, and Catalin beat Dave in a game that was literally a blood bath! On the top boards, Antonio extended his good form by beating Gerard, and Ray and Heather continued their exploration of the closed Sicilian, with Heather's early g4 beating Ray's even earlier a6. Robin and Will played a King's Gambit, with the tactics eventually falling in Will's favour.
So, the match finished with Cowley 2 winning 3.5-2.5. The full results are on the OCA web site here.
