As soon as night falls we head up to the roof to wait for Samiel. He is right on time and as expected he doesn't have the spear. We tell him simply we will not assault Donovan until we have all four motes. He is not happy but deals with it. He wants a time frame but we don't have one. He says he has some debts to pay anyways and sulks off. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, not happy he still has this very deadly artifact. But there isn't much we can do about it now and at least he isn't going to bring it to Donovan's door for the time being.
I head down to the cage and put on some loud and angry music. I need to relax so I'm going to gear up and attempt to hack into the Fort Meade network. See if I can find out exactly what Donovan is using it for. This won't be an easy hack. This is a highly secured military network at the headquarters of the US Military's Cyber Command. Luckily I had some insight on it's design from when I was stationed there and I had my supernal wrist computer. It took a few hours and the network engineers there didn't give up without a fight. The challenge was quite nice for a change and it took my mind off the other shit going on for a bit. Now comes the actual hard part, sifting through thousand of terabytes of traffic trying to find something out of place. Luckily hiding information in a computer network wasn't Donovan's thing and I found what I was looking for. He had just about every system in here going through every family tree it could find and brute forcing it's way looking for a particular one. The surprising part of this whole thing was it wasn't just looking in Chicago or the midwest. He was looking all over the damn world.
