As soon as the sun fell we portaled to the last temple. We all settled into the routine but there was a sense of urgency. The first trap was easily spotted and I willed the group past it, we didn't have time to fiddle with it. The first room was full of wards, preventing me from portaling us to the other side. I used my soul crafted scrying to wittle down the wards with very little effort. I was a Master of Space and wasn't going to let these trivial things get in my way. The circular room had three creatures crafted of space. They started using the ranged blow and teleportation tricks I was so fond of. I erected a mobile ward and shut those down and we easily dispatched them.
The Mind room was empty. Third Eye gave the subtle hint of mental impressions within the room. I just walked in. As I started making my way toward the other side I could feel the room trying to convince me to stop. I easily shrugged off the suggestion and made my way across with sheer will. This was my tower and I was not going to be stopped so close to our goal. Danno made it through right behind me. Hector takes a bit to make it across and it takes Ohm considerably longer, I assume his mind is a state of flux with the unexpected return of his demon girl. I should help him through the room but decide against it. He needs to suffer on his own. Eventually Ohm makes it through looking a bit beat of mentally and we head into the circular room. The circular room is empty and once the door closes the rest disappear. I'm presented with an image of Kat bleeding to death. This room is trying to use my own mind to destroy me, it is going to have to try harder than that. I unmake the nightmare with a thought. Again Danno is the next one out. Apparently his mind has become much stronger of late, obviously due to my tutelage. Ohm makes it out next. Hector is not so lucky and is consumed by his nightmare and loses control and tries to attack us. I order him to stand down and he listens and soon regains control. The lock on the last door opens and we head into the final room.
The final room a mage appears and starts flinging Space and Mind at us. I again erect the mobile ward to stop most of it and the rest I counter with my own magic. The mage tries to influence Hector but I regain control of him and the mage eventually falls. The last piece of the nexus rises before us. My soul cries out to stay a bit longer in this place and I really do want to. But the fate of the world is in our hands and there are many who need out help on the outside. So I grab the nexus piece and we leave.
As soon as we return to the warehouse Lylith shows up. She sensed the pieces of the nexus were together. She says she knows how to activate them and as she runs her hand over the pieces they begin to glow and soon the world dissolves around us. As the world begins to gain focus we find ourselves sitting in the Lady Abigail's room in the palace. The decor is much older and ancient. We are then greeted by a recording of the Lady Abigail who begins to tell and show us everything. The Lady Abigail is the last of the magi. She is an Oracle. Apparently every so many millenia the four horsemen appear in the world to awaken Legion. They go to the sixth watchtower to pass three tests. If they pass the tests they can destroy Legion and save the world. If they fail the tests Legion gains control over them and uses them to destroy the world. No group has ever passed the tests. The magi weren't happy with this and decided to do something about it. They sacrificed themselves and imbued the Lady Abigail with all their power. She waited around for many many years to tweak the threads of destiny. She even played Donovan a bit so he would do his part in the greater play. This amused us. The Lady Abigail believes we can pass the final tests and destroy Legion for good.
As the warehouse came back into focus we all just stood there stunned. This was a lot of shit to take in. The Lady Abigail was an Oracle. I always suspected she was but to know it is true fills me with joy. For the first time since I started this roller coaster of a ride I feel we can actually win. We will march up into that tower and defeat anything that is thrown at us. I will make Donovan kneel before me. I will break his mind.
The nexus pieces were calling to me, I had to find out what they can do. One of the things we wanted to test was whether they actually returned to the temples when used. That was the information w got from Donovan's journal but I now suspect it is wrong. So there was only one way to find out, trial and error. We needed something big to test them on so I figured we need to keep our new town safe from the enemy so I will hide it.
The nexus pieces to work as a ritual casting and several hours later I simple make the town of Ahava and surrounding forest disappear. Anybody that tries to come here without knowing the path will become hopelessly lost. I attune the spell to only allow those with certain tokens to find the path. Ohm spends some time attuning the proper resonance to a bag of pennies that he stamps and we have cheap tokens. We give some tokens to the Uratha and any allies we have in town.
Time to rest, making a town disappear is tiring.
