Couple days of rest and some intel gathering and now it's time to head out to the Museum of Natural History in LA. The Guardians of the Veil are holed up in the museum besieged by demons. As we wait for the sun to set fully so Danno will wake up we are surprised when he wakes up early. We notice that there is an unnatural darkness encompassing the earth and blocking out the sun. No doubt the work of Donovan. I'm even more pissed now, no sun means no nude sun bathing in Tahiti, I was looking forward to that after I killed the bastard. This guy was trying to ruin my happy place.
We portal into an alley a couple blocks away and even from here we can see a 30ft tall demon barking out orders in some unknown language while circling what we can only assume is the museum. The streets of LA in this area at least look like a war zone. Bodies everywhere, cars on fire, rubble strewn across the streets. It looks like some Hollywood set has leaked out into the streets. As we survey the damage and decide what we are going to do Ohm and I can feel am uneasy aura emanating from near the big demon. Ohm determine it's an anti magic field of some sort. Not something we have run into before. Red and Danno take up position atop a nearby building to get a better view. I peer into the shadow and can determine the anti magic field does not penetrate the gauntlet. We figure we don't really have the time to wade through the countless lesser demons flying about, we need to strike the big guy quickly and do something about that anti magic field. We decide we will try the same trick we did on the Pure leader, a kidnapping. Only problem is we need our own 30ft tall individual to do the snatching. I figure since distance is an illusion, then so must be height. The only issue was I could not effect a living pattern but a Life mage could. Ohm and I both realize that this is a time to try out a gift Lylith had given us recently. Do to our connection as Horsemen we could each borrow upon the others Arcana when devising a spell via a ritual. Together we could make Hector into a giant.
We head into the shadow and find a spot near where the big demon is pacing. Ohm and I begin our ritual and a few hours later we finish. It seemed like a scene out of a comic book as Hector began to grow in size. Hector was imposing in his "normal" size, now he was 35 ft tall and a bit scarier. As Danno and Red moved into position to help distract the little ones a sword comes out of nowhere and sticks itself in the ground. It is Ragnarök. It glows slightly and Ohm disappears. Apparently it has decided now is the time to claim it's new wielder. Shortly after Ohm returns and he looks a little different. More confident as he picks up Ragnarök with ease. He says the sword hates demons and he might be able to use it to unravel the anti magic field. I tear open a hole in the gauntlet and Hector gets into position. He won't be able to step through as long as the anti magic field is up so he has to wait in the shadow side while we lure the big guy near. Red and Danno being their side of the assault. Red created a cloud of nastiness that started rolling over the minions while Danno just tells them all to die and raises his dead army. I walk through the spirit road into the fray and attempt to command the big demon to heel. He doesn't listen but that at least got his attention. Ohm follows me through and starts slashing at the air unraveling the field while also sending bolts of power at the demon. This enrages the demon who crosses the distance easily and picks Ohm up. I unleash my nimbus and again command the demon to walk down the spirit road and into the shadow. This time he obeys and enters the shadow bringing Ohm with him. The look on it's face was quite entertaining and it is greeted with a hug from a 35ft tall werewolf. Hector and the demon dance for a while with Ohm shredding the thing to bits. It doesn't take long before the demon falls. Ohm finishes unraveling the anti magic field while Hector enjoys his new form and rips off the head of the demon and runs through the little demons playing some twisted form of golf. With their task master down and the others bringing hell down on them it doesn't take long to clean up the mess. Knowing that the Guardians are watching from the museum fills me with pride and I march right up into the museum. As I march I yell out that they should drop all their wards now because if I get even a speck of dirt on my suit I'm gonna let that werewolf lose in here.
The mages are of course dumbfounded by why they are seeing. I explain that they are to gather their strength and any other mages they can find. When the time comes we will call upon them to join in the assault on Chicago. Knowing that the majority of these mages are Guardians and how they can be pricks about just about anything, I sternly remind them that this fight will involve all supernaturals so they better just get used to the idea now. I think I get my point across as the 35ft tall werewolf behind me rolls the big demon's head into a pile of little demons and howls "strike!". The others stroll on up. Danno with his undead army, Red with green nastiness dripping from his claws, the aforementioned Heczilla and Ohm dressed in demon blood and guts. I give the mages a smirk as the whole party dissolves before their eyes and we are back in Ahava.
With the LA issue taken care of quicker than we had expected we figure that since we still have most of the night, or day since it was getting more difficult to tell, that we would head to London and take a look as to what was going on with the verge reported there.
We portal near Big Ben which seemed to be the epicenter of the verge. The wolves quickly could sense the spirit world was all kinda of messed up. It was pretty easy to hone in on the center of the disturbance. There were police barriers and police attempting to keep things in control. Nearing the barriers we notice several of the people surrounding the verge are supernatural. A bit closer and I recognize one as my mentor Dr Andersen. He also sees me and beckons us over. I inform him we are here to see about closing this verge. He fills us in on everything thus far. He has been here for says along with some Uratha shaman who were trying to close it. Every time they would begin the closing something would erode away their efforts. Ohm and I took our own look at the verge and determined that there was indeed some kind of supernal wind eroding away the gauntlet from the shadow side. Feeling confident with the new found Stormcaller at my side I put up a mobile ban against spirits and we match right on through the verge. The others see us going and quickly get inside my bubble. The "wind" seems to be coming from the shadow version of Big Ben. We get swamped by spirits bent on killing but they are powerful enough to bypass my wards. Red has fun throwing things at them while we walk. We enter the twisted version of Big Ben and get the sense the wind is coming from up top. We enter the top room and we see some creature mumbling to itself and a black rift of some kind next to it. A quick scan shows the rift is a combination of space and death and it is eating away the gauntlet like it was a black hole. We attempt to talk with the insane thing and finally realize it is some broken and twisted version of skin and bones. Apparently Donovan has corrupted it further, which is quite a feat based on what it used to be. It mumbles something about protecting the rift. We figure with some stim and the aid of the nexus I can probably unravel it but we need to do something about it now. I decide to teleport it to outer space for the time being. Hopefully that will slow it's progress or at last get it away from this guardian. The teleport works and the former skin and bones mumbles about the rift still be safe and it leaves, as do we. We tell Dr Anderson what was going on, he isn't sure what we did will stop the verge but it's better than nothing. We quickly return to ahava to check on the nexus. The nexus is still charging slowly. We decide its time to talk to Lylith, hopefully she knows some way we can hasten the charging of the nexus.
--
Lylith isn't even sure how she was able to activate the nexus in the first place and does not know how to recharge it more rapidly. Taranis (formerly knows as Ohm) takes some time to analyze the flows of energy into the nexus. He determines that it is recharging in the same way as most artifacts, just at a slower rate. We think it might be possible to reconstruct some of the aspects of the Watchtower basements using our knowledge of the Atlantean runes. The temples were also some kind of focus for the nexus pieces. If we can reconstruct that focus we should be able to concentrate ley line energies into the nexus pieces and hasten their recharge rate.
We decide we will build a sort of Stonehedge, constructed with a symbolic stone for each Watchtower on which we will inscribe the proper runes. Taranis begins by following the ley lines in Ahava to find an appropriate building site. I spend the rest of the day unraveling mysteries of Fate. It is the one Arcanum neither of us possess and I fell we will need an understanding of all aspects of the Pentacle if we are going to create these symbolic spires.
