Nothing on our radar right now. The thing with the police is on hold until the mage council does what they need to do. The spider hasn't received any hits from upstate New York and manual searching hasn't turned anything up yet. So we figure since we have been spending a lot of time in the shadow realm of late and with Donovan apparently spending some time in there we should do some shadow training. We talk with the pack to see if they have anything but Chicago is pretty much under control spirit wise. Since we are looking for an area with nasty resonance that spirits love to feed on, Detroit should be a prime hunting spot. So we load up the Prius and head out east.
We find out where the new Prince of the city is hanging out and go say high to Samuel. If we are going to hunt some spirits and try to clean some some of the resonance up we should help him out in the process. We are told about some work they are trying to do in the main library but there is a foreboding sense of fear around it that keeps getting in the way of the restoration. This sounds like a good place to start.
Luckily the gauntlet is fairly weak here so crossing over went well. We prepare ourselves for battle and head on into the shadow version of the library. We barely get to the door when we get swarmed by some of those spider things we fought down in New Orleans. They are soon joined by some kinda large spider thing. This thing runs straight at us and unleashes this wave of bits of bits of bone and other nasty rotting pieces of something. I could sense the nausea emanating from the rotting stuff and it seemed to effect the others, I was spared by the power of the mote. The spiders tried to flank us and I could sense the big spider thing was going to unleash that nasty wave again so I focused on my spirit shield and waited for it. Soon enough it did come and I pushed a bit of the divine into my shield and erected a greenish white half dome in front of the group. The bone wave slammed into the shield and with a bright flash the shield and the wave were gone. The big spider thing was not happy with that. We were wittling down his little spiders and so he took a nice long look at the Padre and became one with him. And not in the biblical sense. We finished off the remaining spiders with a few taking good swipes at Danno and one even managed to get their stinger into him. I was able to remove the blood disease and it was just and the now possessed Padre. Danno actually had the self control to retract his claws and played around with the Padre taking a few blows from the hammer but they were barely even scratching him. I switched into subdue mode and gave the Padre a mild headache. This was enough to knock him unconscious and the spider thing left his body. The spirit was looking for a new host and tried to take over Danno but he flashed with the aura of the divine and shrugged it off. After that it didn't take long to finish the fight. All in all it was a good fight. We all took a good beating and looking at the Padre's wounds he took a really good beating. Danno was low on blood and Ohm was low on mana. With that we decided it was time to withdraw. I ripped a hole in the gauntlet and we left. We told Samuel's man to keep an eye on the prius and I portaled us back home. The group needed to rest.
