Red summons the spirit of knowledge. We ask it why it wanted us to get the nexus. It has not idea what we are talking about. That means that Dante is playing us and I'm feeling the need to set him on fire.
We go to the Inferno to confront Dante.
Danno and I are really trying hard to control our anger so instead we pour that energy into our auras as we walk into the Inferno. Between his feeling of dread and decay and my don't fuck with me presence we cleared the place out real quick. We just ignored Dante who was up in his balcony area watching us. Danno took over the bar and we had some drinks. Must have been a lot of humidity in the air as we kept dropping bottles and glasses. We couldn't attack Dante because of the Elysium but we sure as hell could piss him off, and that we did as he finally came down to join us trying to hide his anger. He of course asked why we were busting up his place and we told him how we dont like being played. He feigned ignorance and so we told him that even though we may not be able to attack him because of Elysium he was fair game outside of this place and we had the know how to fuck with his assets on the outside. He finally realizes we aren't going anywhere without an answer so he says that he knows for certain that Dante did not have us retrieve the pieces of the nexus, because he has been dead for 90 years.
We were all kind of speechless and than the next question was then who the hell was this but he answered that question when his eyes began to turn black and a purplish smoke swirled around him. Standing before us was no longer the thing we knew as Dante but our old friend Donovan, well a clone of him. Danno of course pulled out his walter and put it to his head. Apparently Donovan killed Dante 90 years ago and has been masquerading as him the whole time and using his resources and network. We chat for a bit each side probing each other for answers but not getting anywhere. Danno senses the conversation is over and unloads the clip of the walter into the Donovan clone. Well shit. We grab some of the good liquor and close the bar as we haul ass to the palace, this is one of those things that the Lady Abigail really needs to know about.
We enter the throne room and as we approach the throne we see another thing we weren't expecting to see, Danno gets down on a knee before the Lady Abigail and apologizes for his actions at the Inferno. I found it odd he felt he erred somehow, Danno was actually pretty tame at the bar. We inform the Lady Abigail of what happened at the Inferno and for the first time I think I saw a small flash of surprise roll across her face. She said she would take care of the Inferno and get someone else in there to keep it running. We ask for details on what Dante searched for in the library he was given access to and she said she wasn't sure because he always sent servants. That answered our next question of how did Dante/Donovan get into the palace without the alarms going off, also explains why he didn't show up for the christmas ball. We said we would find out who the servants were and find out what they were looking for. Now that Hector had finally met Donovan and has surely proved his bravery in the temple fights I decided it is time for him to know what is going on. I ask the Lady Abigail if she would show Hector her true self. Hector was simple stunned by what he saw but not scared and he didn't set on fire which is a good sign. After a few minutes of Hector (and hell the rest of us) staring in awe at the Lady Abigail he dropped to a knee and pledged his loyalty to the fight. With that it was time to plan our next move so we headed back to the warehouse and into the war room.
In the war room we filled Hector in on the other details and we decided it was time to head to the desert. We were ready to retrieve war and unite the four.

Well this night sure as hell was eventful. I was all ready to set Dante on fire to get the truth out of him. Or I should say the husk formaly known as Dante. It is quite unnerving thinking that all the times we went to the Inferno we were dealing with Donovan. He has been in this city collecting information under everyones noses. Hell he could have other clones out there hidden too. Maybe he is the Mayor. This could quickly descend into a paranoia that we can't afford. We have been put off from accepting any new allies since the Malcothet incident. While it is good to be wary we also can't be blind to those who truly were meant to help us. It was strange talking to Donovan though. Unlike Danno I didn't feel anger towards him. I felt pity. He talked about making choices and said he made the choice to walk down the path he is on but I can't help but feel his strings are also being pulled. What a lonely life he lives. Hated by many, loved by none. It makes me realize that the power isn't worth it when the trade off is being alone. Maybe I'm just young and haven't felt the pull of the supernal realms yet, but I don't want to ascend. You never hear much about those who have reached archmastery because I think they either destroy themselves trying to reach past the Abyss or they go mad trying. Either way they spend the rest of their existence alone. Screw that. I'll stay down here and flip the Abyss off. I'll taunt it repeatedly until it can't take anymore and goes home. I have everything I need right here in this weird ass warehouse.
