We decide to head to D.C. Since the Idigam came back to the Earth via the Apollo capsule we should go pay it a visit in the Air and Space Museum. The mall was really empty but that was kinda expected. As we are heading towards the museum we catch sight of a security guard heading towards us. Taranis determines he is mage from a distance so we decide to wait for him. He reaches us and informs us that he has been waiting for us. Apparently the President informed him we would be arriving eventually. A little odd but hell these are odd times and the President actually gave up a mote so we won't think about it too much. Our tour guide brings us to the Apollo capsule and we begin looking for signs. Doesn't take long to see the claw marks and other indications of the presence of the Idigam but it's been so many years there isn't much else of a trail. Taranis and I head into the shadow version of the capsule and send out a reverse summons to Gamugur, the Unholy Host. We tell it we are coming for it and its time in this world is over. We figure that the Idigam probably jumped off this thing when it splashed down so we look up those coordinates and Taranis encases us in a bubble while I teleport us to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We go for a little dive while looking for traces. We do get some faint ones but its been so long that they have faded away. Not sure what our next move is so we head back to Ahava and try to think outside of the proverbial box. Donovan has been looking for these things for decades and they have remained outside of his grasp so we had to think of something he wouldn't have tried or couldn't try. Then it hits me, the Astral Realms. I had this strange feeling that because Donovan was so far removed from humanity that perhaps that prevented him from being able to journey into the global dreamspace. Maybe we could go into the Temenos and find realms associated with the Idigam and these could provide clues as to their whereabouts. I told the others of my idea and they agreed it was worth a shot. The only issue seemed to be that out of all of us only Taranis and I would actually be able to go in. It had been a while since I made my own astral journey and we had grown in power since them so I dug through our copy of the palace library to see if I could find another way. Didn't take long to realize that to a Master of Space even the travel between realms of thought and reality were not out of my purview. Taranis and I went into our meditative trances and entered the Astral Realm . Once we found each other in the entrance of the Temenos I ripped a hole in thought and portaled into the fallen world. The others were waiting in Ahava and were able to step into the Temenos as it were any other location upon the earth. I wasn't sure how the Astral was going to respond to the presence of those who shouldn't be here. That question was soon answered as the sky began to darken as though a storm were approaching. That storm began to separate into waves of color. One for each of the horsemen. It was though the sum of all human thought was announcing that we had arrived. A reminder that not only were we walking the earth but now we were in her thoughts. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, didn't want to stick around and see so I locked on to the little bit of Idigiam that was part of my pattern and used it as a link to the concept of Gamugur and we were transported instantly to his "realm".
It wasn't much of a realm, more of an endless plane of shifting images. As we watched the images float by they seemed to be random but as we focused we began to see a repeating set of images. We began to see images of a three headed winged creature that we recognized as an old school depiction of an angel. We began to see other issues related to worship and this image. An empty church kept floating by and sometimes we would see a shapeless mass on what appeared to be the surface of the moon crying out in pain. It began to seem as though Gamugur needed to be worshiped or something like that. Just might be his ban. We figure this church has some kind of significance so I step back into Ahava and focus my senses on it in the real world. I get a lock on its location and tell the others who leave the Astral. I will us to this church.
The church doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary, just a typical Catholic church. With the GPS satellites being down we have to rely on old fashioned investigation to figure out where we are, in the middle of nowhere. We are in some little po dunk town town called Bay Springs Mississippi. We continue wandering around the church looking for signs of something out of place but there are none. The shadow seems to be normal, full of spirits of law and order. The church itself is kept in perfect condition but that could just be the sign of an OCD priest. Frustrated with more dead ends I play target practice with the communion and Danno knocks some pews over. I suppose we are hoping that the order is because of Gamugur but he still doesn't show. The gunfire does get the attention of the priest who we see walking up towards the church. He is of course freaked out by our presence and we try to tell him we are looking for a demon. Conversation doesn't get very far with him so we decided to go hit the local bar and come back tomorrow when there is a mass. As we are leaving Danno gets the impression that there have been dead here and that those dead had been brought back to life. Maybe there was something to this place.
The bar was pretty empty this time of night and we didn't get welcoming looks. I read the thoughts of the bartender who was not happy with our presence. I then put out my friendly aura and he warmed up a little. He still wasn't happy with us being here but that we because they have been bothered by outsiders before inquiring about some so called miracles. He blamed the miracles on a gas leak and a shared hallucination. We of course weren't buying that. I probed deeper into his memories and finally came upon him witnessing a couple resurrections. I did the same to the other patrons and they had there own similar memories. We were definitely going to have to stick around for mass tomorrow. There is something weird going on here.
