We start off the day with a briefing from Yanna. She has compiled a summary of our forces. We are amassing quite a nice number and variety of supernaturals. With Bowen's comm network ramping up I expect we will receive more resources by the time we are ready to march on Chicago.

We still have not heard any clues as to the whereabouts of the last two Idigam. I decide to head out past the barrier and force a Unahar to come to me. The thing is so twisted and mad it is hard to communicate with so I opt for images and delve into it's memories. I do manage to see what I believe is the twisted form of Uda Lahal. I find no other evidence of this thing seeing any more of its kind and decide this will not be fruitful to our search. With a passing feeling of pity for this creature I unravel its corpus with a thought and return to Ahava. We have Red summon his helper spirits and have them change their search for a Pure totem that may be influencing the Pure to commit the sin of creating a ghost child.

Time to continue my analysis of the Phoenix Gate. I have done all I can with the book research of it. There was very little about the gate and most of it came from the Lady Abigail herself, and those were ideas she had formed without being in possession of it. The next step was to actually attempt to use it. I inform the others of what I will be doing and create a pocket realm to work in. Last thing I want to do is accidentally set the Warehouse on fire. The key to this gate lies in the inflection and emphasis of words composed from the phrase written upon it. In addition you have to imagine what it is you want to do. It is not unlike forming an imago which makes sense as this item is rumored to be created by one of the magi before the fall of the ladder.

Deflagarate translates to burn. The various tests of this word resulted in setting myself on fire and being able to throw it. I even managed to create supernal fire instead of chemical much like Taranis' celestial fire. This will keep Danno happy as celestial fire does not impart the fear in him.

Muri translates to wall or barrier. Combining this with deflagarate I was able to burn through a fine suit of leather armor as though it were paper. This same combination even allowed me to unravel mage armor without much effort. Same inflection but different thought and I burned a phoenix shaped hole through the wall of an old shed.

Tempi was clearly the time component of the gate. We already knew that Samiel had figured that out and used it to go forward in time briefly to escape us on several occasions. I also got the impression that I could use it view time past. I started with a fond memory of not to long ago here in Ahava and it was like being there. I was able to control the flow of the scene like watching a movie. This was similar to the time magic I've used before but much more powerful. I figured I'd see how far this thing could go and I thought of the fall of the ladder. It took several real minutes for something to happen, but soon I was in the midst of a battle of epic proportions. The Lady Abigail in full battle regalia calling down a rain of fire against Lucifer himself. I watched in awe as she sliced through the symbolic ladder with Ragnarök. Returning to real time I was left in shock. Not from the magic but from what I witnessed. I had a stronger appreciation for Taranis. To wield the sword that took down the ladder was a mighty gift. The angels have deemed him worthy. Going forward in time past a minute or so was impossible even for this thing and I didn't experiment much more with that.

Intervalia was the last word and I didn't even need to look it up. The resonance of this word as it vibrated the air rang true with my own. When this word was spoken it seemed like it took ages for the sound to reverberate off a distant barrier while simultaneously making you feel as though you were in an enclosed room. This was a word of Space. It hardly required any thought before I was transporting myself and then others across the illusion of distance. While not as impressive because I could easily do the same already it did have one very important aspect. The Abyss did not fight back.

This Phoenix Gate is quite an artifact. Its power seems to be endless, and not provoking the wrath of the Abyss will surely help us in our task. The only problem is the thing scares the shit out of me. I question whether I should be the one using it. I've had enough issues with curbing my ego, having this kind of power without the threat of paradox is going to be very very tempting. Perhaps though this is yet another test. Maybe I have neglected it for this long because my soul knew I wasn't ready but now the times have changed. For the most part I have resisted the lure of using my mote for personal gains. Taranis has reached a new pinnacle and I know he will look out for me. Not because he is some overbearing holy type, but because it is a curse of all Awakened to lust for more and he knows the lure himself. But most importantly I think back to a few weeks ago when I took out the pure leader. I remember well the promise from Kat if I step over the line.
