Avatar, Warrior, Spirit, Helpers and Builders
The idea of warrior spirit or spiritual warrior has been around for many millennia. Two very different concepts and behaviors are joined into one personality, one being. Why is that? It is a reaction to a sundering of a whole going way back to the dissolution of the tribal village. The warrior arises to fight the new forces of injustice and bring back the just harmony of the whole. At the same time, the spirit tries to retain the old philosophy and psychology of the whole – the whole person, whole mind, whole tribe, and the connection of Nature and Human in a greater whole.
This spiritual warrior or warrior spirit has been with us for thousands of years. In this new epoch of the 21st century, a new kind of spiritual warrior is called for, still a spiritual warrior but also of this new culture that is electronic, global, multicultural, versed in science and psychology, post-communist and post-capitalistic. The new warrior spirit is a paradox, just as the old one is between spirit and warrior.
Below are some observations about this new personality:
Diverse spirits are warriors; we have a warrior aspect to ourselves. But it is more correct to say we would be “warrior spirits” than “spiritual warriors”. Why? We are spirits first, though our path is that of social activism. Our warriorship is not martial or aloof, our warriorship is sacred, our valiance is enchanted, our vigilance is compassionate.
Further, Diverse souls would engage in many activities; at times they would not be warriors at all, not involved in war at all. So here it would be generally more correct to say that we are “social spirits”.
Spirit remains the primary idea. This may confuse some, but the Diverse mind says that you cannot change the world, if you do not change yourself first. Fix your spirit and you can fix the world. Neglect your spirit and you can change the world, but not its spirit, and thus you essentially change nothing at all.
The Diverse heart sees no division between personal or social activity, between individuality or sociality. If you believe this spiritual philosophy, you will become socially active; you cannot believe in the Diverse and ignore the suffering of Humanity. And if you are an activist, you will practice personal methods; you cannot change the society without changing yourself too.
The Diverse soul is a product of the boundary age between suffering and ex-suffering, and must be a warrior that ushers in a new civilization. But, first of all, the new person is a new spirit bringing a new spiritual philosophy to the planet.
Further, these new personalities are fighters and builders. But fighting in itself has no purpose, thus building is our primary behavior. The most difficult task is the replacement of old institutions, in the past we have seen how easy it is to destroy, but to be constructive and create is so much harder. It is to these ends that the Diverse spirits are dedicated. We build a new civilization; we are a new nation growing amongst old nations. This is our “revolution”. We build and grow, we completely change life and society, the “political” changes are merely registers of our growth, we do not dwell on the State, we focus on civil society, on personal behavior, on new organizations and practices.
The Diverse souls are also helpers. We don’t just battle, we help people, we alleviate their suffering in the here and now. The conventional warrior focuses on “war”, but we do not, we focus on sympathy, empathy and caring. We do not postpone caring; we do not make demands and then wait for “systems” to help people; we take the initiative to do what we can.
Thus, the Diverse souls are not warriors in the old sense, we are too diverse to just be “warriors”, we are much more, we are spirits, we are builders, we are helpers.
