FRIDAY, MAY 22: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! (also, last day to pay $60 marching band fee deposit)

SPRING TRAINING

We have just one more day of Spring Training this year as we look ahead to the 2026-27 season. Anyone who is thinking about being in marching band for Fall 2026 should come to spring training on Tuesday. If you can't come, please communicate!

Check out the 2026 SCGMB Handout for more information about fees, summer dates, etc.

The $60 marching band fee deposit is due Tuesday, but please communicate if you need more time. A number of people have already let us know that you will pay next week, or beginning of next month, and that is totally fine. Thank you for letting us know! It helps us to plan.

GRADUATION - MAY 15

ALL SYMPHONIC BAND MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO PERFORM AT GRADUATION! The ceremony begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 15th. Report time is 6:15 p.m. Attire is ALL BLACK, LONG BLACK (in other words, regular concert attire). As with any other Symphonic Band performance, our participation in the graduation ceremony is a grade.

LISTEN TO THIS!

"LISTEN TO THIS" is a regular feature in our newsletter where I challenge each member of the band to listen to some great music. This week's piece is by American composer John Williams, and it is performed here by the "President's Own" U.S. Marine Band. It's a fun tribute to Americana as we approach Memorial Day.
