Anthropology is the study of past cultures and, generally speaking, people. This course will tell the many stories of peoples’ past through their cultural interactions, religions, societal structures, and other various elements pertaining to culture. In part, this class will primarily focus on the study of past cultures, “dead societies”. This includes ancient civilizations such as Pompei, Olmec, Mayan, Sumeric, and many more.
