This is a community-oriented historical research class that will focus on primary sources. Students will analyze a variety of historical documents and artifacts, interview community members, and utilize public records and newspaper archives. There may be field trips to the local museums in Hendricks/Marshall/Pipestone, etc., or possibly the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul. Students will create a substantial research project which will include a lengthy paper and a multimedia presentation. Students will also write news items for the local paper.
