Zoology provides students with a broad survey of the animal kingdom.  Emphasis is placed on the comparative study of embryonic development, anatomy, life cycles, and ecology of representatives from various vertebrate and invertebrate groups.  Dissections are a main component of this course.  Students should feel comfortable handling all species of animals. as active participation in the dissections is required. This class is full of new vocabulary terms that most students have never seen before! A trip to the Omaha Zoo in late April/early May will be another highlight of this course.
