This online course includes Lab and Field Trip Experiences.

Academic portion of this ProStart class will be taught online. This industry-driven course allows students to gain experience in the Hospitality and Restaurant fields. Students will examine various careers in the foods industry, gain skills and knowledge in the culinary field, and build good business and management skills. These valuable skills can be transferred to any area in the world of work. A learning coach in your local school or at a restaurant site will monitor lab experiences. Field trip sites include a locally owned restaurant, a fine dining site, and a large-scale food service. Tours of two post-secondary institutions are also planned. Students will have the opportunity to meet and work with industry professionals.
