This Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) course blends a passion for nature with essential life skills and career pathways in Hospitality & Tourism, Visual Arts & Design, Education & Training, and Human Services. Students will explore wilderness hospitality and outdoor recreation management, design, and marketing for outdoor brands, teaching and leadership in outdoor education, and human services related to survival, nutrition, and wellness in nature. Through hands-on experiences, students will learn outdoor cooking and outdoor meal planning, sustainable tourism and ecotourism, outdoor gear design and branding, leadership skills for guiding and teaching in outdoor settings, and personal wellness in extreme environments. This course is perfect for those who want to turn their love for the outdoors into a future career while mastering essential life skills.
