This course combines traditional classroom activities and practical experiences to provide students with a basic knowledge of artistic perception, creative expression, historical and cultural context, aesthetic valuing and connections, relations, and application of the visual arts through the design of floral arrangements. We will cover the construction of basic geometric designs, wearable flowers, accessory usage, container selection, proper use and maintenance of tools, and skills necessary to select and use quality materials in design construction. Curriculum includes problem solving, creative thinking, written and verbal communication skills. Supervised agricultural experience, The Agricultural Experience Tracker and FFA will be integrated, as appropriate throughout. Course fee of $50 per student.
