Agriculture is a highly technical and ever-changing industry upon which everyone is dependent. In order to maintain agriculture as the nation’s number one industry, it is crucial to understand the importance of agrisciences, marketing strategies, safe food production, and continuous research. Farming is a complex business with many facets. From the traditional family-owned farm to the corporate farm, bookkeeping, profitability, tax planning, and many other skills are required to complement traditional farming duties. The students in this course will work with many of the tools the MNSCU Farm Business Management instructors use. Instruction will include classroom and laboratory settings and many industry professionals. Supervised agricultural experience, The Agricultural Experience Tracker, and FFA will be integrated, as appropriate throughout.
