I think that this had to be one of my favorite classes this year. It helped relieve stress and now I had a class that I could do art in , instead of just doing it at home. I didn't take art last year because I was in band, which I did not like at all. A lot of people asked why I took art, since I already had my art credit. I said that I really liked doing art and I saw some of the projects kids did last year and I thought that would be really fun. And why not take another art class?

My favorite projects this year were the assemblage, the surrealist painting, and the self portrait. I've always liked building things, even though most of them didn't turn out too great. This took a lot of time, but I liked working on it. It really gave a lot of room for creativity. I've never been really good at painting, so I didn't know how to surrealist one would turn out. I was hoping that it would turn out good because I really liked my collage, but I wasn't sure if it would look good once I got it down on paper. I also have never liked drawing people or myself, but this drawing turned out way better than I thought. It had my chicken in it, so that was a plus because I like drawing animals and it also was something different from what other students had in their drawings.

This year I really improved on my painting skills, which I've wanted to do for a while. I've also learned to take my time and not rush through things, because it doesn't look good with art, or anything else really :'). But I learned a TON of new painting techniques that I never knew before and I also learned how to work with charcoal, which I've only worked with a few times. I also learned how to make things with wire and that was a cool skill to have. Overall, I learned a lot in Foundations and I'm really glad I took the class.
