The subject of my creation is a blue dragon with a princess in front of it. The dragon is in front of a tree line with a burning castle in the background. First, I saw the tail of a lizard and then I saw two little dots right underneath the big blob that looked like little eyes, so I was going to draw a funny little person. But I decided to go with the lizard, but then changed it to a dragon because dragons are way cooler. I sketched out my dragon and then drew over that with a fine tip black pen, and then sketched the background. I used graphite first and then watercolor.

I used the element of art line to make the outline of everything and to create texture, another element of art. I also used color to show where shadows were or different colors on the dragon and on the ground and trees. I emphasized the dragon by making him right in the center of the drawing , and by also making him a noticeable blue.

I've always really liked dragons and mythical creatures, so I thought it would be fun to do one here. I really like being able to create my own creature; it leaves no boundaries, I can make it however I want the creature to be. In the end, I think I wouldn't outline the dragon, instead, I would just use the watercolors to emphasize certain parts of it.
