DESCRIBE:
The subject of this image is the sun and sky. The setting is the view from the porch behind my house. To create this image, I waited for a time when there weren't clouds and the sun was blank. I've always liked images where you can look through the tree branches and see the space in the sky so I wanted to include that. I angled my camera up slightly to catch the sun's rays and captured the image. After that, I put the image in black in white because it emphasised the sun's rays more and I liked the gradient of black/white throughout the sky.
ANALYZE:
This image show the composition rule of thirds and ant's eye view. If the image were to be put into a 3x3 grid, the sun would be a focus point because it meets at one point. The rest of the things in the image aren't placed in an orderly form. That is why the image is rule of thirds. It is ant's eye view because the image is angled up so it's makes the point of view from a lower point. Originally, I was going to use an image with just the branches but then I took this image and the sun and extra trees added character and made the image more appealing.
EVALUATE:
The meaning behind this image is to shine in boring times. It's okay to stick out, even when no one else is. Just like how the sun sticks out and shines on everything around it. This project relates to my life because I've never been interested in fitting in. My whole life I've been different than most people and that's the way I like it. I think this image could be stronger if the sun casted more of a shadow on the tree. This would match my meaning more because it could show that being in the shadows isn't fun. Next time, I would probably try to capture the image when the sun is a little higher in the sky to get more shadows.
