Photography 1

This photo is by far my favorite one and the one I am most proud of. I took the photos for this project not expecting my brother's photo to be my favorite one. The photo didn't even look that interesting when I was taking it with the camera but as soon as it was developed and I saw it, I got very excited. I knew my little brother was going to love it to. When I was able to bring home my final print, my mom would not give it back. Knowing that my mom also loved the photo, made me proud. I really like the darkness and how the trees in the back are blurred. I think it really gives off a dark and mysterious vibe. This project taught me that even if you don't think something is going to come out good, you can't be negative about it and you just have to wait and hope it comes out good.

This class has changed my perspective of photography completely. I used to just enjoy taking photos but they were all the same thing. I didn't know any compositions or anything. Now that I have taken photos with all these new skills learned, I realised how much better they are. They can draw you in more and have meaning. This class also taught me patience. It taught me that I have to wait because not every photo is going to turn out perfect. Sometimes you have to keep trying, but don't ever give up because then you will never have a good photo. You can't rush things. You have to take it slow because usually if you rush, it won't come out good. Photography takes time. I also have a new appreciation of others work. I am able to look at photos anywhere and I have a different point of view compared to before this class. Before this class I would look at a photo and just think, "oh that looks cool," but now I think about it and see the message in it.

This class was very fun. There wouldn't be much that I would change about it. If anything, maybe don't have as many assignments or give more time to work on them. I actually liked when you would give us a few projects at once because I felt more motivated to get it done and felt more accomplished when I finished it (like when we got to chose which two films projects we wanted to do).
