Analogous Color

DESCRIBE:

The subject of this image is the cool-toned sunset. This picture was taken at my grandparents house which is surrounded by fields. The sun rises on one side of their house and sets on another and they have a perfect view for both. I was looking out the window when I noticed the colors in the sky. The horizon line was filled with warm analogous colors which is why I knew it would be perfect for this project. After capturing this image, I added a overlay and lowered the brightness to make the colors stand out more. Then I cropped the image down so the extra space in the field and sky wouldn't distract from the sunset colors.

ANALYZE:

This image shows the composition silhouette lighting. The source of light is coming from behind the trees and bushes which gives the effect of the trees looking like a shadow. Originally, I was going to leave the open space in the picture but then I wanted the focus on the analogous colors and I figured that lessening the space would aid in doing so.

EVALUATE:

The meaning behind this image is to show the bright in every dark situation. After a long day full of work, school, stress, or whatever you do in a day, the sun sets with beautiful colors. You may be having a bad day, but the world still goes round. This project relates to my life because the day I took this picture, I had many doctors appointments to try to figure out the problems I have with my stomach. We were unable to find anything out which is upsetting because we are trying so hard. Even after this long day, I got to sit outside and watch a beautiful sunset. There is always something to go to when your day needs brightening. I think the image would be stronger if I played with the point of view more. It was very cold when I was taking this image so it was hard to be still and stay out there long. If I had more time and warmer weather, I think this image could be stronger.
