Portrait

Artist Statement: This is by far my favorite assignment. For this, we had to take pictures of portraits of people faces. I had taken photos of my friends and thought I was all set but I still needed more to complete the roll of film so I took photos of my brother. I developed the film and it was ready to be made into a test strip. I set the aperture level to F11 and I cut the film into strips and made a test strip by doing two second increments of exposing the paper to light while covering up less of the film each time. I then set up my contact sheet to be made by putting the film on top of a paper. I exposed it for 11 seconds and then I developed it in the chemicals. I was not expecting the photo of my brother to be my favorite but it was. I chose that one to do my final print so I put it in the machine under the light and exposed the paper for 11 seconds. I developed it and this was my final product.
