Perseverance is a quality that means to never give up and try your best. Perseverance means to work hard and try your best and never give up until you succeed. Jackie Robinson and I both show Perseverance by working hard, Jackie shows perseverance in baseball by trying his best. I use perseverance in Folklorico by trying my best to not get nervous and to keep on smiling.
Jackie Robinson shows this quality because he broke the color barrier in baseball. On page 55 in Promises to Keep, it says, “He spoke with such pride”. This quote shows perseverance because he never gave up and said his beliefs. Also, in his speech ‘Promises to Keep’, Jackie Robinson says that “Humans can become better”. I chose this quote because it shows that he believes that humans can persevere to be better. A social change that Jackie brought was he broke the color barrier in baseball and made it fair for everyone to be able to join baseball. I chose these quotes because they describe Jackie and how he used perseverance in baseball.
I see this quality in me by wanting to change and help the community. I need this quality in my life because in some ways you can always try harder until you succeed. Never give up. I used this quality this year in Folklorico. Folklorico is a group of people that practice different dances from Mexico. I had to change fast because I danced in two groups: the Glenwood group and in the Carbondale group. This means that I only had a small amount of time to change, since most people are only in one dance. Also I tried my best to do the dances really well and I tried my best to not get worried if I was going to mess up.
I had to make decisions about how to show perseverance. I chose the font because for some people It's hard to understand cursive writing also I chose the color because it reminds me of the beautiful beach and the water is so calming to watch making long and big waves. The color relates to my trait because the color inspires me to work hard.
Jackie Robinson and I both show perseverance by working on baseball . This quality is important because it means to try harder. This quality relates to Jackie by trying to make a difference in the community. This matters because people can change the community by working hard. If nobody had perseverance in there life they wouldn't be able to work hard every day at their jobs.
