Local leaders have important qualities that make them one. Maggie Riley is one and she is very amiable to her high school students, friends, family and nature, just like me. We share a quality that is important in many situations. Amiable is being kind and friendly, and although Maggie and I show it in different ways we are both still amiable.
Maggie talks about how she likes to use mountains and valleys to represent growth and dreams. In the article, “Bridges students imagine the possibilities” written by John Stroud on May 30, 2015 found in Post Independent, it says each school year bridges high school teacher Maggie Riley draws a mountain range on the board in her class room. “The peaks represent the things we dream of” she said. Then she explains that the valleys represent growth and improvement. She does this to make thinking easier for her students. She also has been a teacher at many different schools. She worked at a Muslim school in Chicago and traveled all the way over to Madagascar to be an English teacher trainer. This tells that she will be amiable to people who speak different languages and have different cultures.
I also am amiable. I include people even if I don’t know them and I try to solve problems. For example my friends were arguing and I went over to them and asked about there different points of view but that didn't help much. Then I asked if my friends and I could figure this problem out at lunch time in one of our classrooms. And I spent my recess and lunch trying to help them with their problem instead of playing with other friends or running around. My point is that I am amiable because I am friendly and caring to other people and not just to myself.
My word is amiable, and when I think of my word I have to express it other than just talking about it, and I want people to see my word and how I think about it in my mind. For my word I used blue colors. Some of the letters in my word are a light and bright blue because that represents the sky on a sunny beautiful bright day. Then the rest of the letters are a dark blue and that represents the sky on a stormy and cloudy day because nobody can always be friendly and amiable. For my font I have a curvy and a straight font and that represents that sometimes you are boring and plain and the curvy font says that you can be amiable in many different ways times and places.
Local leaders are important. They change our community and sometimes more. Maggie Riley and I both share and have the quality of being amiable. Being amiable is a very important quality because it can change people and how they think and do things.
