Determination
Determination is a characteristic for people who lead social change. Determination means when you are working hard on a challenge. Showing determination is similar to trying your best, but different because determination means you have a goal. Jim Abbott shows determination when he played baseball with one hand. I show determination as well. Determination helps Jim Abbott and me become smarter because we take steps, make our plans, and show responsibility.
One time Jim Abbott demonstrated determination when he played baseball with one hand. In the article by Rick Swaine, it said “every other kid in the neighborhood was playing baseball so that's what he wanted to do.” This shows that determination is important because it helped Jim Abbott achieve his goals to make a difference.
I also had an experience where I showed determination. One time, when we were camping we cooked food at the campsite. It was hard because I messed up a little bit and I thought the meat was going to be burned. It's hard to cook meat. Determination helped me to make a difference by helping my crew eat dinner, otherwise they would get so mad.
I decided to brand determination. I chose Alex Brush because it shows determination to learn about cursive. I also chose Rainbow Color because it takes determination of the colors. These decisions show determination as my brand.
This quality is important because determination helps people find some answers. Leaders of social change must have determination because otherwise Jim Abbott would have given up. This matters because there is a lot to work to be done in the world, like Math, All Block, Literacy, and Expedition.
