There is this word called “adventurous”. Adventurous means you like to explore new places, and see the world. It also means you are willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences. The more adventurous you are, and the more you know the world the more you can help. Any trash you see, you can pick it up and throw it away in the correct spot or a trash can. Once you do that, you are a lifesaver to the natural environment. Now, try and name all the leaders of social change, bet you can’t because there are a LOT. Let’s talk about one, who is like me: Sarah Uhl. Sarah Uhl used to be a biker but then she quit and got into adventuring and being an artist. She sent money to organizations that help nature. I connect to her because I love adventuring, and my family and I can send money to the organizations, too. Being adventurous helps Sarah Uhl and me change our world to make it better.

Once Sarah Uhl finds a place that she likes, she draws it and shares it with her followers to make them happy. “The growth that comes with each new chapter of our lives. That’s what I do with my art, it’s a pliable canvas,” she says in “SARAH UHL: ILLUSTRATOR, ADVENTURER” by Chris Van Leuven. One thing that she enjoys about being an artist is she can be as BOLD and as curious as she wants. To prove that, she said, “As an artist, I am able to be as curious and bold as I have always wanted to be.” If she wasn’t the person that she is now, I would be talking about someone else! Sarah Uhl used her sense of adventure to make art that could raise money for the natural environment.

Another person that is adventurous is me. About 6 years ago, I went on my first camping trip. I was a lazy child until I was forced to go on an adventure with my family. Once we got to the top of the mountain I felt like my lungs were suffocating. I looked up and I saw a view, the most beautiful thing that I will never forget. I still remember what it looked like! A waterfall in the distance, and the waterfall had a rainbow going down with it, everything was this medium green. Flowers blooming, even a few deer around the pool, with birds flying around. That was a life changer for me. So now I adventure to see more beautiful things. Once I become a parent, I will introduce my kids to adventuring and show what I do once I’m in my happy place. If they like it, then I would explain everything about nature and teach them to keep it safe and clean. I can use my sense of adventure to be a leader of social change by helping teach others how to take care of the environment.

For my yard sign I had to choose a font and a color for my word. For a font I chose “FAST ONE”. Fast One in blue reminds me of adventuring. Fast one reminds me of the outdoors because when I am outside I am running around and playing. Blue reminds me of the waterfall I experienced. I am also happy that it matches adventurous because I like blue, also. Before I chose my word, I researched wonder, and took notes on what it meant, and it did not float my boat. So, I thought of adventurous, and it reminded me a lot about me, so then I researched adventurous. Then I found the word that I was searching for, and I customized the font and color.

Being adventurous helps both Sarah Uhl and I create a better world. Being adventurous is important because people need to get out and explore to understand their world better. Leaders of social change must be adventurous because to make a difference in the world they have to picture it as best as they can to picture the best future. So they need to adventure throughout the world so they can picture it. Being adventurous, and exploring, allows me to get to know the world. That’s why I like to climb, explore, move to different cities, and more. And I can help people get to know the world also. It is important to be adventurous because when you see a place in danger you could report it immediately so they can help, and fix it as best as possible.
