A quality a leader uses is Determination. Determination to me means that when something is difficult and you want to give up you don’t and you keep trying. What I think of determination is that everyone has to show at least a little bit of determination to succeed in life. Jackie Robinson and I both show determination when I am at school and when Jackie was playing baseball.
The leader of change that I chose was Jackie Robinson because he showed determination by breaking the color barrier even though he felt lonely because at first none of his teammates wanted to be his friend. A way he showed determination is by not giving up. A quote from Promises to Keep page 38 is, “He said that he felt loneliness most when the team traveled’’. I put that quote because Jackie Robinson could have left but he stayed even though he felt lonely. Another example of how he showed determination is when he was playing and people would yell out things. Here is a quote that I chose “...As a southerner , he shouldn't be playing ball with a black man” the quote is from Promises to Keep page 41. Jackie Robinson showed determination when that happened by not getting mad and not yelling back at the fan/haters. He had to stay determined because if he didn't blacks and whites wouldn't have been able to play together.
A way I show this quality is in my house and my school work. A way I show determination at school is in math because I am in advanced math and it is hard because I move at a faster pace then my regular class. A way I show it at home is when I have to help my mom with the house because my sister is pregnant and she can't help that much. That is how I show determination like Jackie Robinson.
I chose the word determination because I felt like that is the word me and Jackie Robinson most compare to. I also had two more words they were self control and faith. At first I wanted to choose self control because Jackie Robinson showed a lot of self control but then I thought about me. I dont show that much self control so then I chose determination because both Jackie Robinson and I show it. I chose the font Akronim because I felt like all the lines in the word are like all the times you want to give up but you don’t. I chose the color red for my word because I feel that red stands out and is easy to notice because if i did like black it wouldn't be that noticeable and not that easy to see in a crowd of signs. At the end I like to choices I made and I am happy with them.

All leaders of social change had to show determination to change something or do something. For example if Jackie didn’t show determination he wouldn’t of done anything. He would of gave up because he was lonely and everything but he didn’t he keep going and that is a sign of determination. Another reason determination matters is because every leader shows determination to succeed no matter which leader they are they all showed determination or else they would have all gave up and the world wouldn’t be like it is today. I would like to see someone use determination to stop racism and deportation.
