Being adventurous is an important characteristic for people who lead social change. Adventurous means to take risks, and meet new challenges. It means going out to explore, to see and try new things. Adventurous is similar to exploring, because for both you take risks and see new things. But, adventurous is different than exploring because exploring is like going new places and being adventurous is when you meet a new challenge you never give up and try your hardest. Jackie Robinson was adventurous when he was in the army for three years and when he went to UCLA. I show my sense of adventure when I go outside and see new things and go to new places. A sense of adventure helps both me and Jackie Robinson change our world and make it a better place.

Jackie Robinson was adventurous because he went to UCLA and explored. From Promises to Keep on page 18 it says, “Dad chose to continue his education at University of California at Los Angeles.” He was in the army for three years so he has a lot of experience. Again, from Promises to Keep on page 20, author Sharon Robinson writes, "Dad was in the army for three years, from 1942 to 1945.” Along with going UCLA and being in the army, Jackie Robinson also took risks. One risk he took was joining the Brooklyn Dodgers. When Jackie Robinson used his sense of adventure and joined the Brooklyn Dodgers was when he broke the color barrier in major league baseball.

I see a sense of adventure in myself because I like to go outside and play or lay down and fall asleep. I need this quality so I can go outside and get fresh air, look at the view and not stay inside all the time. When we went to Colorado National Monument, I used my sense of adventure because we stayed at a school for one night. We also went on the hikes and there were pretty views and lots of fresh air. My sense of adventure has helped me appreciate nature so I can use it to make a change by taking care of the environment.

In order to make my personal sense of adventure into a brand, I had to make specific design choices. I chose Bangers as a font because my teacher said it reminded her of Indiana Jones. I thought it did too, so it chose it for my font because Indiana Jones is also adventurous. I chose green as my color because my word is adventurous and that reminds me of being outside. When I go outside to play or rest one of the colors I see is green.

A sense of adventure helps both Jackie Robinson and I create a better world. Being adventurous is important because you can see new things and get through challenges. So you won't just be lazy and stay inside all day. Leaders of social change must be adventurous because they can’t stay inside all day, they have to get out and see new things. My sense of adventure allows me to go outside and go to new places and it also allows me to encourage others to go outside, too. It is important to have a sense of adventure because I don't want to be inside all day. I can get out and play or relax or even just look at the view.
