Care is an important characteristic trait for people leading social change. To be caring means to show kindness and concern for others or to understand how they feel and do something about it. Showing care is similar to showing sympathy and they are not different except for the way they are spelled. I researched Eloisa Duarte and I found that she showed care when she encouraged a friend to become a leader. I show that I am caring for others as well. Eloisa Duarte and I make the world better as we spread caringness and kindness.
Eloisa Duarte helped Alejandra Magaña become a leader. Alejandra stayed home and didn’t speak English before Eloisa started helping her. Alejandra had followed Joe Garcia in “speaking, in English, to a crowd of about 75 at the Colorado Capitol when the Valley Settlement Project’s early childhood program was recognized as a model in the state’s Kids Count report on child welfare.”(Post Independent: Sunday Profile:”Your life will be changing in a little bit” by Randy Essex, May 14, 2015) Alejandra didn’t want to speak at the Capitol but Eloisa always told her, “If you are asked, you have to say yes if you want to be a leader.”(Post Independent: Sunday Profile:”Your life will be changing in a little bit” by Randy Essex, May 14, 2015) “Eloisa is the person who changed my life,” Magaña says. “She taught me I have opportunity here.” ”(Post Independent: Sunday Profile:”Your life will be changing in a little bit” by Randy Essex, May 14, 2015) Alejandra is now the principal of Valley Settlement’s lifelong learning program and is working for Eloisa Duarte. Eloisa is very caring about other people’s future and feelings and she really wants to help them.
Another person who is caring is me. I show that I am caring by understanding how others feel. It is not just people who have feelings. Animals have the same feelings that we do. I have a pet puppy and most of the time I can tell what he is feeling by his actions and I do something about it. For example, when he whines and looks up at me, I know that he wants to be hugged or wants someone to play with. So when I see him cry and looking at me, I go spend time with him. I also show care when I’m with my human friends. I care about how they are feeling and I help them when I can. I hope for others to show caringness so we can make the world a better place.
When I was making caring into a poster brand, I had to choose between a lot of different fonts and colors to see which one really fits the message that I want the word “caring” to spread. I first had to choose what color or colors would remind me of care. When someone shows care for someone else, it makes them both feel good because one person knows that they did a kind action and the other person feels loved because they know that someone cares for them and did something to help that person. I didn’t feel that one color would match the word so I used multiple colors to show that anyone can show caringness in many different ways for many different reasons. After I chose the colors that would be go with the word “caring” , I had to choose a font the represented and showed what caring meant. When I think of caring, it reminds me of a peaceful gesture for someone. I used a wavy, cursive font that reminded me of simple things that mean a lot. These are the decisions that I had to make in order to make my personal quality poster.
People who make positive changes in the world are caring because they are doing things for others. This is important to me because I am making positive changes today by being a caring person.
