Fernando -Self-Control
Self-control is important characteristic for people who lead social change. This means a person has the ability to control oneself. It is important to learn to control your actions when people are not kind. Jackie Robinson show self-control when people called him names and I also show self-control in my life.
Jackie Robinson is a person who shows self-control. In the text, Promises to Keep Sharon Robinson explains that People had been sending bad letters to Jackie, “the Royals learned that there had been letters and calls threatening violence and a boycott if my father appeared on the field.” When people called him names, he would just walk away and wouldn’t call names back. The text also says, “a Syracuse player tossed a black cat toward him yelling ‘Hey Jackie, there’s your cousin clowning around on the field. Jackie held in the anger until this one moment and smacked the ball for a double, later a base hit sent him home with the winning run.” Jackie used self-control that what him success if he doesn't self-control he will call names black.
I used to have to show self-control when I was a third grader during some tough times at recess. The first time I got really mad and wanted to get revenge.I wanted to call them names back. Instead, I walked away. They tried a few more times, but stopped because they got bored when they figured out they couldn’t hurt me.
While creating my yard sign for the 5th grade campaign for leadership, I had to make severed design choices. I chose russo-one because the letters are clear and open. This font is easy to read. I chose blue because it is a bright color. Blue reminds me what happened to me and what choices I should make.
Self-control is important characteristic for people who lead social change. Self-control teaches us not to fight. You can control yourself when someone is not kind. You can choose what to do.If self-control was not real we be fight even time when people call names.Self-control tell us not to fight.
