WALT: use correct punctuation.
WALT: use correct punctuation.
WALT: write in paragraphs.
WALT: write using the structure of a narrative.
Today we are going to be having a go at narrative writing.
While focussing on getting the structure right, I want you to also consider your sentences.
Keep trying to write proper complex and simple sentences.
WALT: Structure a recount correctly
You are going to a short experience with your teacher.
The idea is that you will follow a simple structure for a recount and become proficient in using it, across all future recounts.
3 Sentence Structure
(Any order)
WALT: write complex sentences.
We have been learning to add detail to form juicy complex sentences.
But some of you are writing about different ideas to make the sentence longer e.g
"My brother’s name is Eric and he likes playing rugby with me, he has bushy hair."
or
"She buys me treats with her money and tickles me."
This is not easy to understand!! A complex sentence has more detail about the 1 sentence idea, not lots of idea.
WALT: use the structure of a recount to write about a holiday highlight.
Write a recount about your day yesterday.
It was a public holiday because it was Waitangi Day.
Follow the template and complete each paragraph before piecing it together.
Share on your blog once you are done.
WALT: write about ourselves on the internet in a cybersmart way.
Welcome to 2019! It is now time to update your "about me" blurb for your blog.
Things to could include in your "about me:"
There are lots of people who visit your blog so we want to include information about ourselves in a cybersmart way.
