What is A flipped classroom
differences in direct instruction and flipped classrooms
Definition:
In ( Yang et al., 2018) describes what a flipped classroom is like during COVID 19. This will be how a flipped classroom model is being implemented and if students are accepting this learning method in the pandemic. Students will be told the many different ways a flipped classroom can be used and will give them the opportunity to decide if they like the flipped classroom. After this part of the lesson, students will recite to me what a flipped classroom is.
Students will be able to create a picture that shows what a flipped classroom looks like to them.
While students have to learn what a flipped classroom is, I would like them to dive into their imagination. Their job is to provide an image of what they want their flipped classroom to look like. As stated by (Nouri, 2016), students will show how a flipped classroom is effective and how students benefit from it. Students will provide me with strategies they would use in their classroom. They will provide a list as well as a picture of how these things will be included in our flipped classroom.
Similarities and Differences
The source that I provided, discusses the effectiveness of a flipped classroom is. It goes into detail about what a flipped classroom is like in an engineering classroom. This source specifically focuses on how an engineering classroom is taught but using the flipped classroom method. Students will then be given an example of a direct instruction classroom that focuses on how direct instruction is led and why it is used.
In conclusion, flipped classrooms will be defined and discussed. There will be many examples of flipped classrooms as well as direct instruction. Students, by the end of this lesson, will be able to pick which type of instruction they prefer to learn knowledge from. After this lesson, students will be able to determine which type of instruction they prefer for their teacher to provide for them in class.
