Hi! I'm Chelsea LeSueur, I was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. I am a sophomore and majoring in Elementary Education, specifically kindergarten. I just recently graduated from TCC with my associate's in Social Science. I have always wanted to be a teacher, when I was younger I would play school with my "students."
I love to explore new opportunities, and always love going on adventures! My boyfriend is in the military and we recently just went to Montana, his hometown, and did so much and saw so many things that you normally don't see in Virginia. We love hiking, fishing, and adventuring together! I hope after I graduate we are able to get out of Virginia and explore new places.
My favorite food
Tacos
Chicken Alfredo
My favorite color
Green or blue (Honestly, it depends on the day.)
My mom and I
My boyfriend and I were in Montana recently!
My two dogs, Lucy and Duke
Every day is a learning opportunity
You will learn something new every day
Having a fun and open learning environment for all
I know what it feels like to not be confident in yourself
How to create different learning experiences for every child
A child's mind is often like a sponge, they will absorb everything they are given
Adaptability
Actively listening
Asking for help is okay
Having the confidence in myself
Better time management skills
Being able to communicate with parents about their child
I strive for my students to feel like my classroom is a part of them, I want to be able to make a difference in their lives.
I strive to become the teacher I have always dreamed about
I want my classroom to feel welcoming to everyone
I want my students to know they can express their voices and opinions
My students should know that I will do everything in my power, to make their year great and to be remembered as the teacher that was "the best"
I find it so cool that you were able to visit Montana! It's definitely a place I'd love to visit, even through pictures you cannot deny it is a beautiful place! I really like your outlook on the "what I know" section, I think as teachers we need to have that outlook that each day is a new day and a new learning experience for both us and our students. I hope our experiences in our observations, student teaching, and teaching careers allow you and us all to become confident teachers. Good luck! - Kayla Weekley
You and my daughter would be best friends. She could live on Tacos. I have recently been watching Heartland and just told my husband I would love to live somewhere like Montana and have that kind of lifestyle. lol
Hi, Chelsea, I adored your bio and the contents of your page. I love tacos and chicken alfredo, too! Recently, though, I've become more of shrimp alfredo fan 'cause it's easier to cook, haha! Montana seems so beautiful; I definitely need to check it out. Every day certainly is a learning opportunity. I love your teaching philosophy; a classroom that feels safe and secure is important and allows students to strive. -Ayat
Hi Chelsea, I loved your page. I knew I recognized you from Churchland once I saw your picture, lol. I agree with you on needing to work on communicating with parents. I'm trying to avoid being that teacher who only calls when bad things happen because sometimes I think it's great for teachers to talk to parents even when their child is doing well just to keep them in the loop. - Arielle Nelson
