The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on education systems .
Teachers forced to introduce distance learning.
Teachers lack skills to ensure learning continuity.
Payment delays and layoffs were increasingly widespread.
Educators forced to seek alternative means of income in the short term.
Teachers are unable to support students enrolled in distant learning.
Due to lack of proper resources and material support.
To inspire, a teacher must be tall, and to correct and console; they must stoop. The new reality makes it impossible for the teacher to accomplish the two, both physically and symbolically. The chore of bringing thoughts to life with words, occasionally with the help of a chalkboard or by reading a page, has been reduced to screens casually talking with one other.
They often display indifference, inattention, and lethargy instead of communicating. As a result, dealing with the deception of appearance has been added to the list of issues that a teacher faces today. Some teachers enjoy the scientific approaches of analysis, while others prefer the synthesizing aspects of creative teaching
Regardless of personal preferences, they must be established as transformational instruments, first for teachers and later for students. It is conceivable that such tools will lose their crucial strength when transformation occurs behind a screen during the pandemic (Khalif et al., 2020). As a result, teachers must take precautions to prevent their approaches from being emasculated.
We must learn to be more accepting given the circumstances; however, we still require some assistance from designated authorities to incorporate thorough ICT training in the education curriculum. The government and all relevant parastatals should assist us with resources such as internet and affordable computers to easing us through the new norm.
When teachers take one step forward, society advances by a thousand. The time has come for educators to step into the world of exploration. We need to expand our reach in modern technological solutions and incorporate this knowledge into our experience since change is inevitable yet constant
