My daughters Alexis and Haley
Myself, Alexis, and Haley
Who I Am….
Hello classmates. My name is Alli Miron. I am a 32 year old mom to two beautiful daughters: Alexis and Haley. Being a mom is my main job that I work at all hours of the day and night, but it is the most rewarding job that I have ever had. Besides being a mom to two humans I am also a mom to three rescue dogs: a Beagle Lab; Hera, a Shepherd Pit; Zeus, and a Jack Russell Beagle; Rhea.
I am a junior here at ODU and I am working on my BA in elementary education. My daughters Alexis and Haley begin third grade and kindergarten this year. Alexis was in first grade when the COVID-19 pandemic started so I helped her get through first and second grade. When she was in second grade she went back to being in person, but so much of the stuff that she was taught in class also needed to be reinforced at home. I think that is why I found more passion in possibly teaching second graders because I saw my daughter hit more milestones and seeing her grasp concepts not only made her happy but also made me proud.
Pictured with me is my dog Hera.
Other fun facts about me:I am a Navy Veteran. I have traveled to six countries out of the United States. I also went skydiving.
United States Navy
2007-2012
Deployment visiting the Coliseum In Rome, Italy In 2011.
During deployment visiting the Vincent Van Gogh restaurant In Marseille, France In 2011.
Skydiving for my 29th birthday In Suffolk, Virginia.
I know how to be gentle toned and give a warm vibe In a classroom so others feel safe and comfortable.
I know how to have patience when It comes to learning basic principles of reading and math.
I know when kids are learning to count how to make It appealing with shapes and characters that may Interest them.
I know how to make some age appropriate learning activities and art projects that may not be overwhelming to them.
I also know that not every student will come from the same background or social status so It Is Important to make every student feel welcome.

We do art projects for most holidays In my house.
This project she did In her first grade class, but she was so Interested In It we bought vegetable seeds so she can see how plants change In real life.
I need to learn that sometimes things do not go as planned, such as when Zoom links do not work for school meetings and most teachers are understanding.
I need to learn how to say no. At times I take on too many tasks and I end up burning myself out and then I am no good to anyone.
I need to learn to live In the moment more. There will always be laundry and dishes to do, but as my daughters get older how often will they want to go for Ice cream with their mom.
I will become the teacher that students can trust talking to If they have a problem at school or at home.
I will become the fun teacher and make school an enjoyable place where they will want to come to class each day.
I will be the teacher to try and find different methods to teach so each child can have a better understanding of material so they do not feel like they lack Intelligence.
I will be accepting of all students. I know that each child comes from different family homes and different social classes and I want my students to never feel that they are not good enough.

Hey Alli! I'm so glad you were able to support your daughter throughout such a tough transition! It's even more heartwarming to know that with that experience you found a passion. Covid has really transformed a lot of our lives, and it feels good to know that not everyone's experience was negative.
Hey Alli! Your daughters are the cutest thing! I have always wanted to go skydiving but I am a little scared haha. I also need to learn that things do not go as planned sometimes. I know we can both do it :)
Hi Alli! I also wrote down that I have to learn how to say no, I tend to put a lot on my shoulders and as you said I end up burning myself out. Looking at your fun facts I can see you are really living in the moment and enjoying life! I can't wait to travel and be an awesome Mom, you are doing great(: - Deyalit Ayala
Hi Alli! I love your page. It's really inviting and cute. Your kids are also adorable. I have a one year old boy. I served in the Navy too from 2015- 2020. You have done so many incredible things, but the sky diving is insane!!! I am not brave enough to do that. - Jasmine Rodwell
