I am a Junior at ODU on my way towards a BS in Elementary Education! I love Mac and cheese. My favorite animal is an Elephant. I have a cat at home named Lily who I am obsessed with! I love to play volleyball and was on the JV team at my high school. I can't wait to get to know everyone this semester and work with you!
I have lots of experience working with children. I have tutored children in reading and writing. I was also apart of a Teacher Cadet program in high school. This is where I really found my love for teaching! For the past 3 years, I have been working in a daycare with kids of all ages ranging from 6 weeks -10 years old!
Before I become a teacher, I would like to gain more knowledge and experience in classroom management. I am interested in learning how to help a child who may be struggling to stay focused and on topic.
Something I need to work on before becoming a teacher, is learning to ask for help. I tend to be shy when it comes to asking questions. I have noticed all great teachers help each other and work together. You cannot be a successful teacher if you don't ask the questions that are needed!
Being a teacher is a huge title. Not only are you responsible for teaching a class of children, but you also make sure they feel safe, comforted, heard, accepted, etc. I want to get to know everything about my students. I want to know what their hobbies are. I want to get to know their families! I feel that a teacher can teach a student the best when they know the student well.

Hey Caroline, I love your page! I also want to learn how to better manage a classroom before I begin teaching. As teachers, it's important that we are able to keep students on track and maintain a healthy classroom environment. Similar to you, I'm also working on overcoming my shyness and asking for help when I am unsure how to do something. Lastly, I like what you said about how we are able to teach a student best when we know who they are. It's incredibly important to take the time to learn about our students and their lives in order to help them succeed and show them they matter to us. I wish you best of luck this semester! - Gabby J.
Hey Caroline! I just wanted to let you know that I also struggle with asking for help. I am lucky enough to work at a school where all the staff and faculty support each other, but I still am hesitant. You were right about what you said though, all of the great teachers I know never hesitate to lend a helping hand. They are especially helpful when they know you're new! Maybe we can both work on asking for help moving forward. - Lani
I like how clear and concise your page is formatted. With that, I also have a habit of not asking questions or for help when the time comes. Hopefully, we can both overcome our shyness, as it's as you say that teachers tend to lend out a helping hand and work collectively. Nice job :) -Rahni Davis
Hey Caroline. Your page layout isso cute and everything is clear. I also can't wait to get to know everyone in our class. I want to get to all my student's families as well. I think this is a great idea to incorporate in the classroom. I believe this will also allow you to get to know students and their culture's and how they take in things. -Geneia Sweeting
Hi Caroline! I loved your page it was very straight forward and caught my attention. I am a sides person so I love love baked Mac and cheese! I've been working at my first daycare for almost a month now and it has been amazing getting a hands on experience in a classroom setting. It has been helping me overcome my shyness and to reach out to others when I need help, and also being confident when I speak. - Deyalit Ayala
HI Caroline! I love how simple yet beautiful your page is. A lot of the pages one here are intimidating. I agree with how you mention asking for help. I think that when we first start into something, we want to prove to ourselves and everyone that we can do it on our own. I have looked at youtube videos to get some ideas for when the time comes, so I feel that fit into that category. jasmine rodwell
