A proportion is a statement that two fractions are equivalent (equal).
There are two options! We have already learned one:
If you can multiply the numerator and denominator of one fraction by the same number and get a the second fraction, they are equivalent!
There's another way! It's called cross-multiplication:
Multiply the numerator of one fraction by the denominator of the other, and then multiply the other two. If the two products are equal, you have a proportion!
