A polynomial is the sum or difference of monomials.
A monomial is an expression of the form k · x^n where k is a real number (any number that isn't imaginary) and n is a whole number (whole numbers are positive)
I once overheard a very excited conversation at a coffee shop, and they were talking about the degree of a polynomial ... what's that?
Note: these could be written as "when x = -3," or as "find f(-3)." These are the same thing.
