Lesson 1: Solving Systems of Equations by Graphing
DO NOW
Write a series of steps that explains how you would graph this equation: y = 4/3x - 2
LEARNING TARGET
I can solve a system of equations by graphing.

What is a system of equations?
Okay, so what is the "solution" to a system of equations?
In Algebra 1, we are dealing with LINEAR equations, or straight lines. If you have two straight lines, how many times can they cross? Are there any circumstances where they can have more or less solutions?
We are going to learn how to find these solutions using lots of different methods, but today we are going to focus on graphing. In order to find the solution to a system of linear equations using graphing, you just graph the two lines on the same graph and find the coordinates where they cross!
Let's do some examples!
