Can you solve these using the vertical line method? How would you do it?
Combine like terms if you can (same side of the equal sign)
Get rid of addition or subtraction first if it's not being multiplied or divided by anything
Once the whole side of the equation is being multiplied or divided, get rid of divider (or multiplier)
Then, you should have a simple one or two step equation!
