Overview: Every year, our students take the CAASPP assessment to demonstrate their growth in our program. State testing provides families and educators with valuable insights into student performance, helping us set meaningful goals for both individual students and our program as a whole. Additionally, these scores play a crucial role in shaping the future of our charter school, showcasing how NCS makes an impact and continues to raise the bar for students in Natomas.
Please start preparing your student now so they can confidently show what they know!
Encourage a Growth Mindset – Remind your child that tests help measure progress, not define intelligence. Encourage them to do their best!
Practice at Home – Use CAASPP practice tests (available here) so your child feels comfortable with the format.
Review Key Skills – Focus on reading comprehension, writing responses, and math problem-solving based on their grade level.
Limit Screen Time – Encourage hands-on activities, reading, and puzzles to strengthen focus and critical thinking.
Establish a Consistent Sleep Routine – Ensure your child gets 9-10 hours of sleep per night in the weeks leading up to the test.
